DG'S ARE KEEPING
BUSY IN 2012!
Yes, we have lots of
news about recent events and our calendar is busy for the
next few months. Take note on what's new and do
come join us for sisterhood, fun and philanthropy.
FOUNDERS DAY:
We had a wonderful
lunch on the beautiful balcony of Franci Agajanian's
home. Franci, and her DG daughter Amy
Agajanian hosted this annual event, and we were
delighted to honor 60-year members Paula Di Fiore and
Ann Carley. We also welcomed first-time
attendees Candace Poindexter and Nancy Hongola
(both Alpha Sigma, UCLA) who are active on the house corp.
for Alpha Sigma. Franci shared some
history about the Founders, including her ancestor Anna Boyd
Ellington, and we all participated in a trivia game about
Delta Gamma. Thanks to all who made this a great
celebration!

60-year
members Ann Carley and Paula Di Fiore
with Awards
Chair Ally Taketa
Franci Agajanian
was also invited to speak at the Alpha Nu (USC) Founders Day
event on March 3rd.
EASTER BASKETS FOR
THE BCC:
DGs gathered at the
home of Kathy Fisher for friendship and the assembly of
dozens of baskets to donate to the Blind Childrens' Center
for the annual Easter Party. These baskets are
for the siblings of the BCC students. Thanks to
all who donated goodies or participated in this fun
philanthropy!

provide an inspiring story of sisterhood and how her
sorority involvement has helped with her career and
various philanthropic endeavors. We'll be sure to
have DG's sit together so even if you come solo you
will be among friends. Download the invitation

page for more information.
We need auction items! Some
of you have already graciously volunteered items
and many of you donated items at our 2011 benefit.
Please let Kathy Gonzalez know if you are able to provide a
gift basket, other products (tickets, certificates,
items, condos in fun areas, etc...) All items are
welcome. Kathy is especially eager to find
some donations for a golf round, spa package or
restaurant in the Palm Desert/Indio area or
Solvang/Santa Ynez area. We have a raffle
prize donation for a two night stay in Indio or
Solvang (winner gets to pick the location) and we
are trying to pad the resort stay with a few extra
perks. Can you help? Contact Kathy at

DUES/HOUSEKEEPING
It is not too late to
bring your South Bay DG chapter dues current. In
order to stay strong as an Alumnae Chapter your support of
local dues as well as per capita (national) dues is
critical. Please visit our
"contact us/chapter
dues" page and pay your dues now via PayPal or get
directions on how to send your dues check to our VP Finance.
Thank you!!
If you
are not getting our e-mail notifications, go to
southbaydg@gmail.com
and let us know and we'll add you to our distribution list.
We are trying to "stay green" and not spend a lot of funds
on printing newsletters so the more we can communicate via
e-mail the better. And you don't want to miss out on
all of the fun activities we have planned.
